On a windy May afternoon, several Webcorians joined other dignitaries to mark the SFO International Terminal Roof Upgrade Project kickoff.

Why it matters: One of two current SFO projects, the International Terminal Roof Upgrade, moves Webcor into its second decade of non-stop construction work at San Francisco International Airport.

  • The terminal, recently renamed in honor of the late Dianne Feinstein, U.S. senator from California, serves more than 13 million passengers yearly.

Zoom in: The project scope includes the leaky expansion joint system, curtain wall system, and reviving the window washing system and corroded structural steel members.

  • The project also includes a new roof system, a new PV system, and the implementation of a new bird deterrent system.

The project, which will be delivered under a CM/GC contract, is the first to receive a grant under the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Terminal Program (ATP).

  • Representatives of subcontractors Rosendin, AGA, and Sit-co, along with the design team of WJE and Hamilton Aiken, joined Webcor at the event. Airport staff and an FAA representative were also present.

Who was there? Webcor's President and CEO Matt Rossie, Senior Vice President Tom Taylor, Vice President Tom Soohoo (who made remarks during the ceremony), Senior Vice President Greg Chauhan, Senior Project Manager Leila Lilazi, Project Director Dave Mulvey, and Construction Manager Forrest Walch attended the event.

  • Marketing team members were also on hand, including Sr. Marketing and Creative Manager Sarah Kelly, who coordinated the event.
