Sustainability Practices in Action

From design to construction, we strive to use our resources efficiently and reuse everything from drawing plans to extra site construction materials.

Our sustainable office and construction practices are an integral part of our comprehensive approach to sustainability.
We are committed to environmental awareness and efficiencies in both our business processes and everyday operations.

Advocacy
  • As a member of organizations like the Carbon Leadership Forum (CLF), US Green Building Council- CA (USGBC-CA), All for Reuse, Association of General Contractors (CA), Bay Area Sustainable Construction Leaders (BASCL), we are taking steps to address all aspects of sustainable construction including decarbonization, reuse, construction waste, and employee wellness.
  • We received the 2015 SF Department of the Environment’s Zero Waste Textile Collection competition award for the most pounds collected of all competitors.
  • We have run Earth Month events for 10 straight years to promote environmental advocacy, policies, and education among our people and spaces.
  • Every project team has a “Sustainability Champion and Green Team Member” responsible for facilitating green initiatives at the job site, including proper waste education, edible gardens, and organizing sustainability initiatives at the jobsite to name a few.
  • We strive to provide all employees  opportunities to stay healthy — whether it’s through bicycle advocacy, public transportation reimbursement, or healthy food choices. Our San Francisco office is WELL Gold certified; Los Angeles and Alameda offices are both Fitwel 2-star rated.
education
  • We have a lunchtime series to educate employees about sustainability policies, practices, and technologies.
  • Employees are provided in-house LEED GA and AP with specialty training. We reimburse employees for accreditation exam fees, once passed and ongoing renewal of their credentials.
construction
  • From design to construction, we strive to use our resources efficiently and reuse everything from drawing plans to extra site construction materials.
  • Starting in 2022, we have been participating in the Ecovadis Rating Program. In 2024 we were in the 84th percentile, achieving a Bronze Medal.
  • We have benchmarked our Scope 1 and 2 emissions and are actively working on decarbonizing our operational footprint.
