SFO Consolidated Administration Campus
A showcase of sustainable construction at one of the world's busiest airports.
Genesis Marina, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, offers Class A office space within a purpose-built life sciences campus that blends functionality with wellness and sustainability. Designed to support both established and emerging life science companies, the office environments feature flexible floor plates, abundant natural light, and open, collaborative layouts. Shared amenities such as a restaurant, recreation areas, and panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay enhance the employee experience, while thoughtfully crafted common spaces foster community and innovation across tenants.
The development consists of three five-story buildings set above two-level podium garages, offering integrated access and circulation. As the world’s first precertified TRUE Construction Site, Genesis Marina embraces circular economy principles and zero-waste construction practices. During site development, the team encountered subgrade debris and refuse that did not meet compaction standards. Rather than off-hauling materials as Class II waste, a cement and lime treatment was applied to the soil, maintaining environmental compliance while reducing cost impacts. A protective clay cap was also installed to seal the site, preventing moisture intrusion and safeguarding both public health and the environment.
Purpose-built for life sciences, Genesis Marina delivers approximately 500,000 square feet of flexible, high-performance laboratory space designed to meet the rigorous demands of cutting-edge research. Modular lab suites allow tenants to customize configurations based on evolving scientific needs, while robust MEP systems support complex research and equipment. The labs are seamlessly integrated with the broader campus ecosystem, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. With its strategic location between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, Genesis Marina serves as a central hub for the Bay Area’s thriving biotech community.
